“You like Weyes Blood?

Her early work was a little too experimental for my taste. But when Front Row Seat to Earth came out in ’16, I think she really came into her own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. She’s been compared to Lana Del Rey, but I think Weyes Blood has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

In ’19, Weyes Blood released this; Titanic Rising, her most accomplished album. I think her undisputed masterpiece is “Movies”. A song so catchy, most people probably don’t listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it’s not just about the false perceptions painted within films and the importance of self-worth. It’s also a personal statement about the band itself, hey listeners!”
