Superb and crazy alt-country music is located in this album.
Lambchop are one of the most interesting bands in the alt-country movement and have been at various times called “Nashville’s most fucked up country band.” After having heard this album, I can say that that description probably fits the lyrics more than it does the music as the music is fairly restrained filed with strings and the likes. The lyrics, however, are quite captivating and definitely live up to the hype. Also, I can’t help but notice that Kurt Wagner’s voice sounds similar to Cat Stevens and that is always a plus in my book.
